Mario Tennis Unlock New Characters With the Transfer Pak
If you have the N64 and GBC versions of Mario Tennis, you can use the Transfer Pak to unlock new characters. There are four new character sin the GBC version of the game. Play each to pump up their stats. They will only be as good in the N64 game as you make them in the Gameboy game.
Pop the GBC cart into the Transfer Pak and upload your new characters!

Mario Tennis Unlock Baby Mario and Yoshi Court
Unlock the Baby Mario and Yoshi Court by beating the Mushroom Cup/Singles Tournament using Yoshi.

Mario Tennis Unlock the Piranha Court
After beating the Piranha Challenge you can play on the Piranha Court, but only in the Piranha Challenge.

Mario Tennis Unlock Birdo and Yoshi Court
Select Birdo and enter the Tournament Mode and select select Doubles (your partner will be Yoshi) and then play till you beat the Star Cup.

Mario Tennis Star Players
You can earn a star player simply by beating the Star Cup. Hold the R button as you select your character. This will make your character a Star Player.

To unlock DK Jr, you simply have to complete the Star Cup/Doubles Tournament.

Mario Tennis Hint: Beat Piranha Plant Challenge
Enter as Yoshi without star or lefty, your opponent is most likely to be Baby Mario, if it isn't reenter until it is. Wait for him to go real close to the net then do a lob shot (A and then B) if it works properly, he won't go for the ball. If he goes far from the net, stop lob shooting and do a regular shot away from him.
